Mission

My goal is to help educate consumers on skin care ingredients in order to assist in making informed purchases.  Like one reads the ingredients on a food label, it is important to be able to read and understand skin care ingredients in the same manner.  This kind of knowledge is vital when making decisions on what you apply to your skin.  Learning about skin care ingredients will be able to answer questions such as:  Will I have a bad reaction?  Will this improve my skin?  And more importantly, Am I being ripped off?

In addition to this, I also provide in depth and unbiased reviews for other beauty products to share my personal experience in whether or not you are getting the most bang for your buck.  There have been many occasions where I purchased a product only to be sorely disappointed and wished I could have found better reviews than "it's great" or "it didn't work."  The question is why?  I also found that a lot of reviews are lacking detailed photos - especially on products purchased from overseas swatched on skin tones darker than NC25.  I truly enjoy writing and sharing photos of my experiences in order to help others. 

About Me

I am Miss Kino, but you can call me MISAKINO.  I began my skin care journey several years ago when I had painful and itchy acne that would not go away.  I had tried many products that were promising good results, but in the end I just didn't understand how to choose products according to my own personal needs.  Like everyone has a different diet that works for them, skin care is exactly the same.

Through research, and really taking the time to understand myself and my skin, I was able to help myself.  We humans were not made in a factory, and we are all unique - meaning a cookie cutter skin care routine is just isn't going to cut it.  It is a matter of self curation :). 

In my free time I enjoy creating artwork.  In the past I worked as a Graphic Designer but found that I much prefer designing for myself instead.  I was always the creative type, and my hobby lately is making small (and very detailed) dioramas out of wood and pyrography.  It is very technical and time consuming, but sometimes I find getting lost in the details to be genuinely peaceful.
